The President's Volunteer Service AwardThe Long Island Volunteer Center is the regional site approved to award the President's Volunteer Service Award to residents of Nassau and Suffolk Counties. Nominations that meet established criteria with full documentation should be submitted to the Long Island Volunteer Center, 58 Hilton Avenue, Hempstead, NY 11550.

Long Island Volunteer Hall of Fame Annual recognition of "Individuals whose vision, dedication and drive, addressed a community need, and began a legacy of service to improve the quality of life for all Long Islanders".

Women of Distinction Award - Town of Oyster Bay Annual recognition of outstanding women in the fields of Arts, Business, Community & Civic Affairs, Education, Government, Health Services, Humanitarian & Volunteer.

PHILANTHROPHY

Foundation Center The Center is the nation's leading authority on philanthropy and is dedicated to serving grant seekers, grant makers, researchers, policymakers, the media, and the general public.

Levittown Public Library, Huntington Public Library, Riverhead Free Library maintain a core collection of the Foundation Center's publications either on CD-ROM or online.

Long Island Community Foundation provides Nassau and Suffolk County residents with an economical alternative to a private foundation or a commercial gift fund. LICF offers a dual service: for donors, an efficient and hassle-free way of giving; and for the region, a philanthropic institution to support and assist the nonprofit community.
